Your Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has become available to join the organisation as a Senior Early Childhood Early Intervention (ECEI) coordinator in Cairns to support the NDIA ECEI service on a full-time max term basis to June 2021.

This role will attract a motivated problem-solver who has expertise leading small teams and experience working with people with disability; with a strong track record in NDIS knowledge or advocacy for people with disability.

You will be able to point to their skills and previous experience in will work alongside children 0-6 years with a disability or developmental delay and their families and carers to undertake assessments and develop and implement interventions that build on the strengths of the child and their families and improve the child’s trajectory and overall quality of life. 

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • Assist the Manager in leadership and direction of the ECEI team
  • Assist with all escalated or complex issues across the team
  • Conduct meetings with ECEI participants, families and their carers about the scheme and how to utilize the allocated funds through a planning process.
  • Problem-solve and provide effective solutions that are within the compliance requirements of the program and NDIS legislation.
  • Work to a high compliance and KPI framework
  • Work with mainstream providers of children’s services and community groups to build inclusion and community capacity.

 

Requirements for Success

To be successful in this role you will need to possess:

  • Allied Health qualifications: Occupational Therapy/Speech Pathology/Physiotherapy/Psychology degree/ Social Work.
  • Experience working in Early Childhood and/or Disability Sector
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills; with the ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with all people to establish effective relationships
  • Strong computer literacy skills with various participant management data portals to create and maintain participant records;

Before starting work with us, you will need to undertake a national police history check, qualifications and referee checks, and have a clearance to work with children/vulnerable people.
