The program is the Walgett Homelessness and Housing Support Service specifically you will be support the Men's Crisis Centre working with client aged 16+. You will doing some outreach support with clients, which will require you to use a Mission Australia vehicle.
We strongly encourage male applicants to apply, as this will be working within a men’s refuge.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
- Induct clients into the service, provide support and information
- Create individualised case plans that are recovery focused
- Build relationships with community partners, stakeholders, far west local health district
- Provide ongoing case management sessions with clients and review case plans
- Assist clients in the process of transition out of the service into independence
- Create and update individualised client case management files and notes for all clients
- Complete a range of other administrative duties for the efficient running of the service
Requirements for Success
- Relevantly experience in community service and/or mental health specially with men
- A genuine interest in working with the community
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Current NSW Drivers Licence
- A relevant certificate 4 (desirable only)
Before starting work with us, you will need to undertake a national police history check, qualifications and referee checks, and have a clearance to work with children/vulnerable people.
