Your Opportunity

Located in Lightening Ridge, you will be part of our program that aims to reduce homelessness and increase housing support services. You will be driven to support to young people, adult men and women, and families who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, including those escaping domestic and family violence.

You will be focused on meeting with clients, managing crisis accommodation needs, working with clients holistically to address key issues contributing to homelessness or risk of homelessness.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • Provide support to clients across the spectrum of needs (low, medium and high)
  • Ensure early intervention and prevention through outreach
  • Engage clients in case plans and facilitating small group programs
  • Sustain existing tenancies identified at risk and inappropriately accommodated
  • Crisis support for clients experiencing domestic and/or family violence
  • Assess clients if they should remain in the family home or to be safely rehoused
  • Post crisis support to help clients resolve any issues that caused their homelessness
  • Participate in Continuous Quality Improvement through completion of WHS activities

Requirements for Success

  • You will have a passion for working in community services
  • Knowledge and understanding of supporting vulnerable people
  • Current First Aid Certificate
  • Valid NSW Driver’s Licence

As part of our Employment screening process you will be required to undertake a National Criminal History Check if you haven’t completed one in the last 12 months.

In addition, there is a requirement to possess a current Working with Children check or apply if you do not already hold one. It is unlawful for prohibited persons to apply for work with children, and, as such, prohibited persons cannot apply for this role.
