Your Opportunity

Located in Robertson Triple Care Farm is a youth AOD rehabilitation program. You will be a skilled in teaching young people trades skills including woodwork, work health and safety white card, forklift driving and other trade skills. You will be responsible for providing training to small groups, keeping young people engaged and showing them their potential.

Your key responsibilities will to:

  • Engage young people in building trade skills; generally in small groups
  • Conduct forklift training for young people in the program
  • Maintain the woodwork and metal work shops
  • Engage with students to understand their interests
  • Support students as they progress and recognise achievements 
  • Identify students that may be facing challenges and work to resolve
  • Ensure all students feel included and safe
  • Support young people to get ready for the day as a part of the wake up roster
  • Co-facilitate the group counselling program with a lead counsellor

Requirements for Success

  • Minimum two years’ experience conducting vocation education
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE)
  • Relevant trade qualification such as Building and Construction or Furnishing with a focus on timber work.
  • Understanding of working with youth (and mental health)
  • Experience with using a Forklift or willing to learn
  • Current First Aid Certificate

As part of our Employment screening process you will be required to undertake a National Criminal History Check if you haven’t completed one in the last 12 months.

In addition, there is a requirement to possess a current Working with Children check or apply if you do not already hold one. It is unlawful for prohibited persons to apply for work with children, and, as such, prohibited persons cannot apply for this role.
