Your Opportunity

Roma House offers residents with complex needs unique and intensive specialist support and accommodation in Brisbane’s Springhill. We accommodate up to 31 residents in a respectful inclusive environment for up to 3 months. Our program promotes therapeutic and trauma informed practices and has an emphasis on physical and emotional safety for our residents. 

In this role, you will lead a number of service delivery staff and oversee their caseloads to manage clients with multiple and complex needs in a 24x7 residential environment.

The Senior Practitioner will lead case management within Roma House and will respond to referrals of clients from internal and external support services.  The role will lead staff to be solution-focused and allow our clients to be best assisted with a holistic plan based on their personal strengths.

The service model is as follows:

  • Work collaboratively with other Senior Practitioners and your team allocating caseloads, and ensuring timely completion of tasks
  • Facilitate, plan and document case review meetings using best practice methods.
  • Lead or participate in case-conferences and group case management sessions including family decision making, liaison with other professionals.
  • In consultation with Program Manager, implement reflective practice processes to ensure continuous improvement in service delivery
  • Develop strong internal and external relationships with all stakeholders involved in the service.

Position Requirements

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Social Sciences, OT, Psychology or related field
  • Demonstrated experience in working in a complex environment within Community Services, Health or related industry.
  • Ability to plan, implement, facilitate and monitor and lead a high performing team
  • A high level of referral, advocacy and case management skills; as well as experience with crisis intervention
  • Demonstrated experience in the professional supervision of team members involving critical reflection, to enhance both their practice skills and professional knowledge.
  • Experience working with clients who may have challenging behaviours
  • A current First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain one
  • Current drivers licence
