Your Opportunity

In this role you will assist parents to gain sustainable employment and/or education by helping them overcome their vocational and non-vocational barriers.  Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Develop and conduct assessments, educational and pre-employment activities to determine barriers for participants to assist them to gain further training and employment
  • Develop and record individual Pathway Plans for participants and regularly review Pathway Plan to determine the effectiveness of interventions and identify further areas of assistance if required
  • Develop relationships with participants, provide encouragement and motivation to help participants maintain employment and overcome initial issues or concerns
  • Provide advice to participants on all elements of the job search process including resume and interview preparation, applications and Centrelink compliance
  • Develop and implement group training workshops including literacy, numeracy, oral communication, computer literacy and other employability skills
  • Establish a strong knowledge of the local employment market and identify suitable clients to meet local business needs
  • Develop relationships with training and specialist service providers, to assist in the referral of participants
  • Refer participants to suitable vocational and non-vocational programs and other tailored intervention strategies including training, counselling, government agencies, providers

Position Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess:

  • Tertiary qualifications in community services, employment services, career counselling, health, or
  • related field is advantageous
  • Experience in Family Services, Jobactive Services and/or case management is desirable
  • Experience in working with vulnerable people
  • A proven track record in achieving KPIs
  • Computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office packages and other operating systems
  • Flexibility to travel across a region as required
  • A current Driver’s Licence

As part of our Employment screening process you will be required to undertake a National Criminal History Check.
