Your Opportunity

Youth Learning Pathways support disengaged young people, aged 17-25 years, who are involved in the criminal justice system or at high risk of engaging in criminal activity.

In this role you will plan, implement and deliver high quality and engaging accredited training, as well as pre-accredited and non-accredited education programs to young people involved in the program.  Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Facilitate inductions and interviews (including literacy and numeracy assessments) to assess suitability and capability to participate in training.
  • Develop creative and innovative teaching and learning approaches to address the learning needs of young people
  • Liaise with relevant key stakeholders to assist in the development, planning and execution of training
  • Support participants to participate successfully in training programs by ensuring identification of needs, developing solutions to address those needs and facilitating actions towards the desired outcomes
  • Evaluate training programs on a regular basis to inform future planning
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with key internal and external stakeholders including government and non-government organisations

Position Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess:

  • Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (TAE 40110)
  • Possession of TAEASS502 and TAELLN411 Units of Competency
  • Tertiary qualifications in Youth Work, Social Work, Education or a related field is highly desirable
  • Previous experience in the successful delivery of Cert II in Skills for Work and Vocational Pathways, or similar.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in developing and implementing innovative, creative educational programs to young people experiencing vulnerability and high levels of education disengagement
  • Understanding of the Australian Core Skills Framework and Vocational Education & Training Framework
  • Demonstrated understanding of RTO compliance and knowledge of adult learning principles

As part of our Employment screening process you will be required to undertake a National Criminal History Check.
