Your new role:

Due to expansion, Mission Australia is looking for an experienced tender writer who wants to apply their exceptional writing and business development skills and make a significant difference in the lives of those in need.

As one of the Senior Tender & Submission Officers for Mission Australia you will be responsible for targeting and generating new business from State and Federal Governments. In this position you will write, edit and coordinate tender proposals, research and actively seek new business opportunities. You will monitor all submissions, coordinate feedback and manage the tendering processes throughout. You will also provide mentoring support to a dedicated team based in Queensland and Victoria.

Your project management expertise will be required for the monitoring of all tenders, along with an analysis of each opportunity, risk identification and mitigation and working with various business units to obtain information.

Additionally, this role requires you to assists in the development of new opportunities, including service design.

The position can be based in Sydney CBD or alternatively in Newcastle or Wollongong (noting you might have to work from National Office - Sydney CBD from time to time).

In this position you will:

  • Undertake a business analysis to inform decision making process and meeting organisational strategy, goals and targets.
  • Project manage tenders using Project Management Tools to ensure quality tenders are submitted within the timeframes and approved at appropriate levels.
  • Provide guidance and support to Tender and Submission Officers in large and complex tenders.
  • Maintain systems and processes in support of tender identification preparation and notifications including updating the database and work spaces.
  • Develop strong internal relationships to ensure effective contribution to strategy, proposals and tenders.
  • Conduct research on demographic information and evidence based service delivery to support tenders
  • Maintain Style Guide to reflect organisational key messages, current tender writing practice and consistency
  • Enjoy a challenge

We seek an individual who has:

  • At least 3-5 years’ experience in tender writing and coordination
  • Undergraduate qualification in relevant discipline (preferred)
  • Extensive experience in the delivery of (desired) and understanding of issues in the community services sector
  • Track record of generating success through your effective writing, communications and analysis.
  • Highly skilled in using relevant software applications
  • Strong time management skills with proven project management abilities and strong experience analysing business information.

During our screening process you will be required to undertake a National Criminal History Check.
