About the role

Mission Australia Housing provides high quality affordable rental housing to low and moderate income households. We also develop urban regeneration ventures and provide tenants access to a variety of community support services, supporting their goals of sustaining long term tenancies.

This position supports our National Asset Manager in the management and maintenance of Mission Australia’s freehold properties, which includes a range of property types such as aged care premises, rehab facilities, community hub, child care and residential buildings.

The role will be split between our National office and Blacktown office, and you must also be flexible to work out of our other offices when required. The position also requires occasional interstate travel.  Make this role your own and work with a great team and mentors.  Develop your skills with a varied property portfolio.  There is room for you to growth your skill set and career.

What is important is your positive attitude and your ability to build strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders. 

Significant skills and experience:

  • Property Management – Ensure properties are maintained meet NCC and WHS requirements
  • Asset Management - The development of long term maintenance and improvement strategies for properties
  • Compliance and Reporting – ensure that all properties meet compliance requirements
  • Relationship Management - Build and maintain effective working relationships with external stakeholders

Skills and experience developing:

  • Project Management - Develop and manage project plans, including risk management plans
  • Contract Management -  Oversee  the management of all consultants and contractors

Qualifications & experience

  • Property and/or asset management qualifications – Essential
  • NSW Driver Licence – Essential
  • Tertiary qualifications in Building Services, Property Management or a related field – Advantageous
  • Senior Trade qualification and other related trade tertiary qualifications - Advantageous
  • Extensive Property and Asset Management experience, managing freehold properties
  • Good working knowledge and comprehension of principles and practice of life cycle asset management
  • Good knowledge of NCC, WHS and relevant Australian Standards, Legislation, codes and standards
  • High level of knowledge in HVAC systems
  • Proficient in MS Office in particular Word, Excel, Project, & Visio
